The Apple Map bests beyond Google Map

We will admit right off the bat that this probably shouldn't be a story, but it feels like one of those things that sites may pick up on and misreport as something more than it really is, so we wanted to put this out as a word of reason just in case that happens. We're not going to say that the test done is completely wrong, just that there is little reason to try extracting any real conclusions from it. What happened was Apple Maps beat Google Maps and Waze in a very badly run navigation test by John C. Dvorak.

So, Mr. Dvorak decided to run an informal test with Leo LaPorte, TWiT CEO Lisa Kentzell, and marketing guy Glenn Rubenstein. Dvorak and the other three had a meeting that they were all attending a couple different meetings together, and they were in three separate cars. Leo and Lisa were in one car using Waze for navigation, Glenn was using Apple Maps, and John using Google Maps. The only one who actually knew it was an informal race to test out the different navigation systems was Dvorak.

On the first leg, Glenn was the first to the Apple headquarters, and Leo was last. Then on the second meeting Glenn was again the first to arrive, John second, and Leo last. According to the article, Apple Maps was better about avoiding traffic and traffic lights, putting Glenn on the highway, while Google sent John through local traffic.

As we said at first, it's impossible to take any real conclusions from this informal test, but at the very least it asks some questions, and it may be time to do more testing to see how far along Apple Maps has come from the debacle it was at launch.     www.bicgate.com is one of the best websites to purchase cheap and affordable mobile phone.
