Chinese smartphone-maker Meizu, which also launched two smartphones this month -- Meizu Pro 6 and M3 Note, launched the m3 smartphone in China at a price of Rs 8,000 (CNY 799) for the top variant.
Meizu m3 16GB variant costs Yuan 599, which comes to around Rs 6000, while the 32GB storage version costs Yuan 799, which is around Rs 8,200. Meizu m3 will come in Gold, White, Grey, Blue and Pink colour options and China sales start from April 29.
The Meizu M3 runs on Android 5.1 operating system with Meizu's own Flame 5 skin layered on top of it. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 chipset, which houses a 1.5GHz quad-core Cortex A53 cluster and a 1GHz quad-core Cortex A53 cluster. The smartphone comes in two variants, one with 2GB of RAM and one with 3GB of RAM, the former comes with an internal storage of 16GB and the latter with 32GB. Both the variants have the facility to expand storage using a microSD card.
The polycarbonate body still holds a 5-inch 720p display, but the footprint is marginally increased, likely to accommodate one of the changes - the m3 has 2.5D glass on its front. At 141.5 x 69.5 x 8.3mm, it's a little thinner though, and still packs in a larger 2,870mAh battery (2,500mAh in the m2).
Compared to the Meizu m2 Note, not much has changed on the specs front with the new phone, other than octa-core processor and the new 3GB RAM+32GB storage SKU. We'll have to wait and see if Meizu launches both versions of the m3 in India.
