Only last month, ZUK launched the impressive-looking Z2 Pro—a flagship device featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and up to a whopping 6 gigs of RAM. Today, the firm has unleashed the standard ZUK Z2, which still packs a punch with the SD820 and 4 GB of RAM, all served up at CNY 1,800 ($275).
The ZUK Z2 has a slightly smaller screen than the ZUK Z2 Pro version - 5.2" 1080p - which is covered with 2.5D Curved glass. The phone is slightly thicker, 8.5mm vs. 7.5mm, but comes with a bigger battery, 3,500mAh vs. 3,100mAh. Quick Charge 3.0 is supported over the USB Type-C port (80% in 1 hour), but you can also grab a wireless charging pad for CNY 300.
Aside from the chipset and RAM, there's a 1080 x 1920 full-HD display over a 5-inch canvas, 64 GB of on-board storage, and two nano-SIM slots. The rear-facing 13-megapixel shooter boasts dual-mode focus, f/2.2 aperture and several other treats, while the front snapper gets a wide-angle lens for those all-important group selfies.
Why should you care? The price in China for the Z2 is close to $270, and for this you get a Snapdragon 820 processor — that’s the same one found inside phones like the Xiaomi Mi5 and the LeEco Le Max 2 — a massive 64GB of internal storage space, and a quick-charging 3500mAh battery. That’s a strong spec for such a low price, hence our frustration.
