Samsung will release Galaxy S9 Mini

A reliable source of Samsung information has claimed that the company is working on producing a Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini which could launch as early as next year.

The new smartphone will come with an Infinity Display which curves around the edges of the device, the same type of screen we can see on the Galaxy S8 smartphone. The screen size is expected to be just under 5-inches.

While there is no evidence to suggest the name of the new device will be the Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini; it makes sense. Samsung hasn’t added the curved display on to any of its other lines of products, so it’s likely that this new device will be added to the S line-up.

It is also worth noting that there have previously been rumours of mini versions of both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S8, but neither of those were ever released. So, while Samsung are certainly working on this device, whether or not it’s something which will be released is something which remains to be seen.

If this truly is a miniature version of the S lineup, then we expect that the device would be released alongside the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus which are set to be debuted in the first quarter of 2018.

Once again, don’t get your hopes up too high for this device, as it’s not the first time Samsung has been said to be working on a mini device which never saw the light of day. But, perhaps Samsung decided to hold-off on the mini version of the S8, and put all of their efforts into producing a mini device for the Galaxy S9 instead.
