Oukitel WP5000 rugged phone battery consumption tests

Chinese phone maker, Oukitel is gearing up to launch a big battery phone called the WP5000. This week the company has posted a power consumption test video which reveals how the Oukitel WP5000 is expected to perform in real life, battery-wise.


The official battery tests found the following:
The WP5000’s battery can support 1-day of heavy use
A 30-minute phone call consumes less than 1% of power
A 30-minute video call consumes 10% of power
30-minute of offline music playing consumes only 3% power
30-minute of offline video playing consumes 6% of power
The WP5000 can offer up to 8 hours and 40 minutes of flashlight service
50 minutes of GPS navigation consumes 12%

Oukitel refers to the WP5000 as its tri-proof flagship. That’s because the device is a rugged phone which is waterproof, dustproof and shockproof. So the phone should come out unharmed if submerged in up to 1.5 meters of water or dropped from 1.2-1.5 meters.

The WP5000 is expected to go on pre-sale on April 17 with a 5.7-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 1440 x 720 resolution (HD+).

Performance shouldn’t be a problem for Oukitel’s upcoming rugged beast, as the WP5000 will pack a 2.5GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 processor under the hood. 6GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage (up to 128GB) will also be on board. The WP5000 will take advantage of a dual-camera setup on the back. The 21-megapixel + 5-megapixel sensor combo should be enough to snap some decent images. Same goes for the 13-megapixel front-facing camera.
On top of getting a big battery, the Oukitel WP5000 and Oukitel K10 will also ship with a 9V/2A fast charger in the box to allow users to juice up their device super-fast.
