Vernee is the latest Chinese smartphone brand that had unveiled two new smartphones Vernee Apollo and Vernee Thor. The Vernee Thor is a low-cost smartphone priced at $130 and sports competitive specification. On the other hand, the Vernee Apollo comes with the high-end specs which makes it a good alternative for any other recent flagships and also comes with a price tag of just $400.
Packing MediaTek's MT6797 deca-core Helio X20 chip, the Apollo Lite includes a 5.5-inch full HD display at 1080 x 1920 pixels, so isn't quite as sharp as its beastlier cousin. There's 4 GB of RAM as opposed to 6, and the 5- and 13-megapixel cameras on the front and back respectively look a downgrade on the main Apollo handset. Still, that's a helluva lot of bang for 200 bucks, and could help to put Vernee mobile well and truly on the map.
Coming to the camera department, it has a 16MP rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. It supports dual SIM dual standby by using the hybrid SIM slot, instead of the second SIM you can opt for MicroSD card for further storage expansion. While the Vernee Apollo is priced at $400, the new Apollo Lite costs only $200.
On paper, the Apollo and Vernee Apollo Lite beat pretty much anything else out there in power-to-price ratio, though specs alone don't always make for a great experience. We also cannot comment on the quality of build just by looking at images, though for the kind of money being quoted, we'd be tempted to take a risk anyway.
