OnePlus 3 Snapdragon 820 6GB 64GB only $390

By now, it's no secret that a OnePlus 3 is in the works. We have seen the third-generation "flagship killer" show up in benchmarks, going to war equipped with Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 820 processor and up to 6GB of RAM memory, among other bells and whistles.

As we slowly inch our way to marking a year since the OnePlus 2 was released, the question that will inevitably pop up is: what about the OnePlus 3?

The source said that both OnePlus 3 versions will feature the Snapdragon 820 chipset, but the base model will get 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, while the enthusiast one will up the ante to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. We've seen a SD820, 6GB RAM alleged OnePlus 3 make the rounds at GFXBench, which gives GizOK's claims additional credibility. Naturally, this version will cost a bit more, though we don't see OnePlus crossing the $400 threshold. The 64GB OnePlus 2 used to be $390 before the $40 permanent price cut.

If these leaks and information do turn out to be true, the OnePlus 3 will be a direct competitor to Xiaomi Mi5. In fact, it might just hold an upper-hand thanks to its comparatively wider presence and distribution in the West, while Xiaomi remains a player in select markets only. But in case you get too happy about it, there is no mention whether the OnePlus 3 will continue with the company's invite system, so things could flow either way.

The co-founder of OnePlus Mobile, Carl Pei had said that the OnePlus 3 will be arriving with a captivating new design. He had also revealed that the OnePlus 3 release date would be set at the end of second quarter of this year, which translates to next month. Rumor has it the company is planning an event for May 18 before launching the OnePlus 3 in June. So we'll keep an eye out for any more news as the release draws closer.
